It's Australia's oldest continuously family-owned and operated winery, now run by the fifth generation, and the ironbark slab hut Edward built still stands at the winery.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eTyrrell's is best known for Hunter Semillon. Vat 1, from the Short Flat vineyard, has been made continuously since 1963 and is Australia's most-awarded white wine. HVD comes from a site with some of the oldest Semillon vines in the Hunter.
