This course is designed for those who are just formally starting in the study of wine, both professionals and amateurs.

It is a practical introduction to the production of wines, different wine styles, and major international grape varieties, wine tasting, basic principles of wine service and wine storage and finally, food and wine matching.

The WSET Awards Online covers the same syllabus as the classroom course, but through a supported Online Classroom. Through a combination of tasting and theory, you will explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence.

Certification & Exam

The WSET Level 1 Award in Wines assessment is a closed-book examination consisting of 30 multiple-choice questions taken by students at the end of the course.
Candidates will have 45 minutes to complete the exam.
Candidates must answer 70% (22 out of 30) of the questions correctly to pass.

Entry Requirements

All attendees must be at least 18 years of age.
There are no other requirements for this course.
