The WSET Level 3 Award in Sake is the highest sake qualification WSET offers and one of the most rigorous drinks certifications available anywhere in the world. Taught by Melissa Mills, founder of Sake Connect, across multiple sessions at our Richmond location, you'll develop a thorough analytical understanding of sake production, regional styles and quality assessment at a level that commands respect in the industry.
Assessment includes both a written theory paper and a blind tasting examination. This qualification is designed for serious sake professionals and passionate enthusiasts who want to reach the very top of the category. If you have completed the Level 2 or have equivalent knowledge, this is where your sake education reaches its peak.

About this course
The WSET Level 3 Award in Sake is the most advanced sake qualification available and one of the most respected credentials in the category globally. This is a rigorous, in-depth program covering the full complexity of sake production, classification, regional variation and quality assessment at a professional level.
The Level 3 is assessed across theory and tasting components. It is designed for serious sake enthusiasts, hospitality professionals and those working towards a career in the sake industry. Prior study at Level 2 is strongly recommended.

Certification and exam
Assessment includes both a theory examination and a blind tasting component. Both must be passed to receive the qualification.

Booking and cancellation
Bookings are not secured until full payment is received and the enrolment form is completed and returned. Course bookings close 15 working days prior to the start date.
Cancellations are refundable up to 20 working days before the course start date, less a $75 administration fee and the cost of any study materials supplied. If Melbourne Wine School cancels a course, students will be offered an alternative date or a full refund.
Entry requirements
All attendees must be at least 18 years of age. WSET Level 2 Sake certification is not required but strongly recommended.

Zero tolerance Melbourne Wine School has a zero-tolerance policy for threatening behaviour or acts of aggression and violence — physical or verbal — towards any member of our staff. Any violation will result in removal from the course without refund. |

Illness If you are unwell on the day of your course, a doctor's certificate is required. Without one, standard non-attendance fees apply and full course fees must be paid to re-enrol. |
