2023 Laurent Roumier Chambolle Musigny

Laurent Roumier is the grandson of the legendary Georges Roumier and the cousin of Christophe Roumier, (who currently manages domain George Roumier), and the son of Alain Roumier who was the cellar master for Comte de Vogue for 30 years from the 1950s through to the 1980s. After working for his brother for many years he created his own domaine with 4ha's of vines which were rented from his family. Recent additions of 6 hectares in the Hautes Cotes de Nuits, purchased in the 1990's and further purchases in Chambolle Musigny means he now has just over 12has of vines at his disposal.

Tasting note

Beautifully perfumed and refined, opening with red cherry, wild raspberry and strawberry layered with violet, rose petal and subtle sweet spice. The palate is silky and finely structured, with bright red fruit, delicate mineral definition and fine-grained tannins. There is more generosity and depth than might be expected at village level, while retaining the lifted perfume and elegance that define Chambolle-Musigny. Fresh, poised and persistent, with red berries, floral notes and gentle spice lingering through the finish.
